Our Journey
It was in 1962 Fr. Ricardo Francis a Spanish priest under the guidance of Fr. Edward Mann, S.J. then the Provincial of Bombay Jesuit Province, troubled by the large numbers of street children that lived on pavements and stations around that area began to invite the children into his home in the evenings to take refuge while they slept.

The first Snehasadan (House of Love) was a simple make-shift hut in Kajuwadi-
Chakala.

the second Snehasadan home was started with a childless couple as houseparents in
Gundowli village in a rented building with donated materials.

the third home was built Behind Holy Family Church, Chakala, Andheri East.

On May 5th, a new home was opened in Mogra village on donated land, accommodating 25 boys and alleviating overcrowding in existing homes.

A fifth home was at Pali Hill, Bandra – a horse stable donated by Dr. JJ Furtado. Later
shifted in 1983 to (now Nazareth Niketan Building), Andheri East.

It was reconstructed in 1965 with brick construction. Both houses are close to the Western Express Highway in Jogeshwari East. The house is run by Mr. Magan Patel and Mrs. Kailash Patel.

for working and studying girls.

Inaugurated on April 1st at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (C.S.M.T.), this center serves as a referral point for children in need, in collaboration with Central Railway and the Central Railway Women Welfare Organisation.

Opened on August 25th near Borivali station, this center caters to children from northern India and those from troubled families residing on platforms.

A serene bungalow near the seashore was established, providing a nurturing environment for children, managed by the Sisters of the Queen of the Apostles congregation.

On July 3rd, Snehasadan celebrated its 60th anniversary with the theme "60 Years of Love and Care," reflecting on decades of service and commitment to children's welfare.

It’s a lovely bungalow that houses 20 triple fisher folk children. Mrs. Rahul Jodge and Mrs. Gavel Judge are in charge of the house. Previously, this house was used for Project Bharti (shelter for rescued girls).
